Discover cards moving to Capital One: how to sync your account
Discover credit card accounts have been moving to Capital One in waves since July 2026. You can keep syncing your Discover cards in MaxRewards. The steps just depend on whether your account has been migrated yet.
If your Discover card has not moved yet
Keep syncing with the Discover connector, using your Discover username and password. Nothing changes until your account is migrated.
If your Discover card has moved to Capital One
Your card is now managed through Capital One’s website and app, so you need to sync it with the Capital One connector, using your Capital One username and password. Your Discover login will no longer work for this card.
A quick tip: Capital One credentials won’t work on the Discover connector, so if your card has moved, be sure to choose Capital One from the list.
If you already have a Capital One account linked, just sync it as usual. Your migrated Discover card should show up there along with your other Capital One cards. For help linking or syncing an account, see How to Sync Accounts on the Mobile App.
How do I know if my card has moved?
You’ll receive an email or letter from Discover or Capital One before your account is migrated. If you log in to Discover and can’t find your card, or you’re sent to Capital One, your card has likely moved.
Other things to know
Your card number generally stays the same, so your card in MaxRewards should look familiar after the switch.
