A Gold credit is a discount equal to one month’s cost of your MaxRewards Gold or Platinum subscription. For example, on the $108 a year Gold plan, one credit takes $9 off your annual bill. Credits work as a discount on what you pay, so they don’t add extra time to your membership or pause your billing.
How do I earn Gold credits?
You earn a credit each time a friend you referred signs up with your referral code and connects a bank account. Your friend also earns a credit.
If your friend signs up but hasn’t connected a bank account yet, your credit will show as pending until they do.
To refer a friend, go to your Profile and tap Refer & Earn. This opens your contacts and sharing options. From there, you can send your referral by text message, email, or a direct message on social media.
What are Golden Invites?
Golden Invites are a special way to invite friends. You have two to share, and each one gives a new member 6 bonus credits. Golden Invites can only be claimed by new members.
To send one:
Go to your Profile and tap View Invites.
Tap Send Invite and share your Golden Invite code with a friend.
When your friend signs up with your Golden Invite link, they earn 6 limited time bonus credits.
You earn 1 bonus credit for every qualified referral.
How do I add a Gold credit?
If a friend referred you, enter their referral code when you’re prompted during onboarding. The credit will be saved to your account once you connect a bank account.
Referral codes can only be entered during onboarding. They can’t be added after your account has been created.
How are my credits applied?
If you don’t have Gold or Platinum yet: Having a credit doesn’t upgrade your account automatically, so you can choose when to use it. When you’re ready, go to Profile > the gear icon > Upgrade to Gold or Platinum. For step-by-step directions, see How to Upgrade to Gold or Platinum. Your credits are applied as a discount when you’re charged for the year.
If you already have Gold or Platinum: You don’t need to do anything. Your credits are automatically applied as a discount to your next annual renewal.
How do I see how many credits I have?
Go to your Profile.
Tap View Credits.
Your credits are listed on the next screen.
Your Profile also shows how much your credits will take off your next renewal.
